St. Luke's 40th Anniversary
1980 - 2020
THE COMMENCEMENT OF OUR 40TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR -
SUNDAY 5TH JANUARY 2020
Everyone is invited to come to the 8:30am &10:00am Masses on Sunday 5th of January, 2020 for the commencement of the Year of Celebrations for our wonderful Parish.
We plan to have a year of enhancing our faith, enjoying social activities together and sharing our life and faith at St. Luke’s.
We will have two special guests on the opening of the 40th year Anniversary Mass - the Sisters of St Joseph who started our Parish School and Parish.

They will be at the 8:30am & 10:00am Masses.
Many current and past parishioners will remember the Sisters, so come and say hello. What a lovely way to begin our year. There will be refreshments in the hall after Mass. Please bring a plate.
The 40th Anniversary Team with the help of other parishioners have all been very busy organising things so that 2020, our 40th Anniversary year, will be a great one for us all. We are not letting out any secrets yet, but we are sure the things we are planning will be fruitful for us all.
Our plans are going well and with a great team effort we will all reap the benefits.
The 40th Anniversary Team is looking forward to sharing many exciting things with you next year.

40th Anniversary Masses
Our parish's official 40th Anniversary was on Wednesday 8 January 2020.
Our 40th Anniversary Masses were celebrated on Sunday 5 January at both the 8:30am & 10:00am Masses.
To begin our “special year”, we had two beautiful Masses and a visit from Sisters Aileen Shanahan and Mary Ryan (Josephine Nuns) who started our parish school and the evolving parish. They spoke at both Masses describing their time at St. Luke’s and how rich that time was.
After the 10:00am Mass parishioners were invited to share morning tea with the two Sisters Aileen and Mary in the Parish Centre.
We thank them both so much for making our day extra special.
Two commemorative ruby coloured banners (ruby being the 40th Anniversary colour) displaying the different aspects of parish life were revealed during the Masses. They will remind us that this year is special and meaningful.
After Mass, each parish family was invited to take their special 40th Anniversary gift from our parish - a beautiful calendar depicting life at St. Luke’s.

40th Anniversary Leadership Commitment Mass
On Sunday 19th January 2020, we had a Parish Leadership Commitment Ceremony during the 10:00am Mass.
Members of the Parish Leadership Teams and Fr. Joseph committed themselves and their leadership gifts to the parishioners. Fr. Michael Morgan celebrated Mass for us.
As a parish we opened our special 40th Anniversary year this weekend and dedicated ourselves in service to the parish as part of our year of celebrations.
To welcome Fr. Michael back and to celebrate our teams' dedication, morning tea was served in the Parish Centre after Mass. Team members provided and served morning tea.
